Trying to lose weight? We’ve all heard that it’s good to have a buddy who will diet with you, but did you know that eating with a friend who is overweight can have a negative impact — especially for kids! A ecent study found that overweight kids & teens usually eaten their friends are overweight, than when they snack with a thinner pal.
And the study also found that kids ages 9 to 15 ate more when they were with friends they knew rather than other kids they didn’t know.
Personally. I can vouch for that. I distinctly remember that if you were eating with friends it was easy to grab that extra piece of pizza. But if I was hanging out with a bunch of thin gals I didn’t know somewhere like cheerleader camp, I would be more likely to grab the apple.
The findings are reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
