With the many medications I am on I continually fighting c&ida. Does the yogurt that is advertised as having probiotics like Activa or Yo-Plus really make a difference & how much of it do I have to eat? Would the benefits be worth the additional calories & sugar? -Diane
Great question, Diane! I have found a bag of mixed information on Activia-everything from it containing an abundance of sugar (34 grams in an 8 ounce serving), to chemically engineered ingredients like modified corn starch.
Sugar feeds c&ida, so you’ll need to monitor your intake closely & I suggest you a start a daily food journal.
Clear your diet of all yeast containing foods & white flour/white sugar based products & switch to whole grains & breads made without yeast. Foods that fight c&ida are essential on a daily basis to win the daily battle against c&ida & raw, chopped garlic is one of them. Have at least two-three RAW, chopped cloves & then sprinkle them in your green salads, in tuna fish, on a turkey burger & in scrambled eggs,to name a few.
I suggest a daily, 8 oz serving of plain, organic yogurt that is low in sugar & free of artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup & has no added antibiotics & growth hormones. I highly recommend Stonyfield Farms br& organic yogurt that contains the probiotic, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, a powerful & effective “friendly” strain of bacteria that kills c&ida & creates a healthy flora in your digestive tract that helps to keep your immune system operating at top speed.
You can then add a small amount of your own fruit, preferably organic, without all of the chemical pesticides.
You can also buy Lactobacillus Acidophilus capsules that are also highly effective in fighting c&ida. Purchase a refrigerated variety in your local health food store & follow the directions.
Always check with your doctor before taking any herbs or supplements. Probiotics are essential for balancing the “good to bad bacteria ratio” in your colon, keeping your immune system running in supernaturally healthy shape! May God bless you & may you win this c&ida war!
