“Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to st& your ground, & after you have done everything, to st&.” (Ephesians 6:13)
Some of you may recall I am not a great fan of spiders, especially white tails–a nasty little critter with a toxic bite!
This morning I did my usual thing. I took a shower, but about five seconds into it I realised I was not alone!
Now, as spiders go, this one was not particularly large, in fact it would have only been about a half-inch in length if that! Still, it was a white tail & I was not happy about sharing the shower with IT!
I washed & watched that spider crawling down the wall toward me & then stop. I am sure at this point IT was watching me as IT was in attack pose. I, on the other h&, was in panic pose & I did NOT want to take my eyes off that spider! I still had to wash the suds from my hair.
IT decided I was way too big of a challenge & changed direction. I finished up & got out. I dried off & headed straight for the bug spray. Pssssht, gotcha! Mwaahahahahaha. (Mixed with slight guilt for killing something.)
You know I started thinking about that horrible critter & its size compared to mine. I mean gosh I am probably hundreds of times larger but if I had let that thing close enough it could have bitten me & caused me a lot of pain.
Satan is like that, compared to God he is miniscule. He comes around looking for a weak spot, an opening because we are not watching, & then CHOMP! BUT if we stay alert, st& our ground, don’t back down, & use the weapons that God has placed in our h&s, guess what? Psssssht, gotcha, mwaaaahahahahaha. Thank you Jesus, AMEN!
