Where does the time go? I figured sending out a little goodie bag to our awesome “commenters” on the devotionals would be a quick task, but the chaos of life still put it on the lower half of my “must be done today or else” list.
I am happy to announce 5 winners over the next few days for the 5 weeks! Those chosen have been notified by me via email, so if your name is mentioned and you recognize your quote, be sure to check your email so you can send me your postal address.
June 13-19 – Lisa B.
June 20-26 – Vicky
June 27-July 3 – Linda
July 4-10 – Teresa
July 11-17 – Miriam
Each day for the next 4 days, I will share a bit about some of the much-loved devotions and people’s amazing reflections. I love reading all of the comments from you. As a ministry, it helps us understand the specific topics you would like to hear about and how to pray for all of you. As the director, I appreciate hearing your stories, as each comment opens a window into you as an individual. And as a reader, I think many people would agree with me when I say that we are some tough iron sharpening iron! We learn from your experiences and what you share.
Today’s winner for June 13-19th is Lisa B.
In response to the devotional “Squeezing a Stranger? The Lord Provides in Extraordinary Ways!” by Sally Rowland, I think we all felt like going out and finding someone who could use a big hug. Just this last week, on the train at the Atlanta airport between gates my mom and I (Lisa) met a woman who was on her way to another state because her grand baby was having emergency surgery. She needed a hug, but the fast moving train prevented it. But we listened and told her we’d pray for her. She has still been on my mind.
Lisa B. shares with us. . .
“I have been on the receiving end of a hug from a stranger, and I still think of that precious woman who embraced me as I sobbed. My best friend had just died and this woman found me in the hospital hallway, wrapped me in her arms, and told me my loved one would be with her son in heaven. He had also just passed away that same day. My eyes still well in tears as I think of such amazing grace. I’m praying for you and your precious family. Lisa”

I have thoroughly enjoyed the devotions for many years (since 1998) and have shared many of them with friends and loved ones, some of whom have joined themselves as a result of the devotions. These writings have touched many a heart that may otherwise not have heard the simple truths that are written within these pages, so I trust they continue to be a part of this ministry. Once again, thank you for allowing these to continue, and for the opportunity to share with the writers. May you have a blessed day as you press forward for our Lord. Gentle hugs, Ada
Wow… 1998! Thank you to all of you who share the devotionals, forward them to a friend, print them off and take them to someone in the hospital–whatever you are doing to share the love of God is precious and we appreciate it!
