Need to freshen up a room with a few summer printables?
I have been working on freshening up the decor of my two bathrooms and an easy way is to create some summer printables to frame. It is always nice to have something positive and encouraging on the wall, especially when it is the bathroom that guests use.
I often buy picture frames at the thrift stores and then just add a fresh coat of paint of whatever color I need. For these two, I just painted them with a glossy white.
I tend to only buy Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2x Ultra Cover Aerosol Paint because it has a button that is big (and easy) for my fingers and it also covers well so most things only need one coat.
I paid $.75 for both frames at the thrift store. I popped the glass out of one. On the other one, the staples were too hard to bend and I was too impatient to wait until my husband came home, so I used blue painters tape to cover the glass. I sprayed them with the gloss white. (And since the paint leaked under the tape I has my husband remove the glass the next day–and scrape the paint off. Yes, he’s a good sport.)
I found some sayings online that seemed beach-y to match my bathroom theme, but also had a “message” that those in my family need. My husband took up long-boarding a couple years ago, so I thought he would like the skateboarder on the “keep calm” image.
I put them on the wall with the starfish mini-canvas (another $.99 thrift store find) and a starfish “Christmas” ornament I bought when Kohl’s had their 90% off sale.
I also made a friend a gift basket recently and included one of my favorite printables I designed last year. “Be Still.”
If you would like to download these summer printables to use for free, click here. They are each5x7 (or you can make them smaller) in high resolution.
When you download you will receive a Zipped file you can unzip and then open the images. Import them into something like a Word document to make sure the size is just right.
