If you have ever kept a worry to yourself rather than choosing to pray about it, Shelly shares how we are missing out.
“My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.'” (Psalm 27:8)
Are you coming?
Or are you one who believes that some things are too trivial to bother God with? Are you one who feels maybe He’s too busy with others’ larger problems to give attention to your own?
Let me assure you, God is a master multi-tasker. He’s perfectly capable of answering prayers regarding war, illness, poverty, hunger, and unemployment all at once without breaking a sweat. As far as our daily activities and thoughts being too trivial, well, I guess I just have one thing to say.
Can your heart hear the beckoning?
The invitation is not, “Tell me your problems when they get large enough.”
It is not, “Let me know if you need my help.”
It isn’t even, “I hope to hear from you if you have something to say that you think might interest Me.”
Here is the invitation He has whispered to Your heart. “Come and talk with me.”
Let your answer today be, “Lord, I am coming!”
Prayer: Dear God, the fact that you invite me, little ole me, to come and talk with you. Wow. I am coming. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Shelly thought you would enjoy this son, “You Invite Me In” by Meredith Andrews. God is inviting you in! He is expectant, excited to hold you. He is enthralled with you, never taking His eyes or His thoughts off of you. So, what are we waiting for? Run to Him! -Lisa
I LOVE this!!! Thank you for the reminder of how loving and gentle God is.
Hi Shelly,
As I read this, I couldn’t help thinking that the reason we might think God is too busy, or not interested is because we try to put him into a human mould, like we might be, or how we might react.
God is so much more than that – and aren’t we blessed by that!
Love that song too.
Continuing prayers for you 🙂 Fiona
“God is a master multi-tasker”!
So true and so hard when we try to be.
What a great reminder, Shelly.
Praying you are home soon and healing up – continuing prayers.
Love,
Lynn
Shelly I absolutely love your devotional. So true that we try to put God in a box. That’s king He cant handle too many things at once. So funny when we think about what we are really saying. That the God of all the universe who just spoke everything into existence cant handle it if I pray about those things that might seem trivial. Lol I bet He just sits back and chuckles at us some times. Im so thankful that He has given us the truth in His word that we can always come about anything and everything. Thank you for the sweet reminder. God bless Diane
I love that God invites us to come talk with Him! What He desires is a deep relationship with us. Isn’t that incredible? I talk with Him all the time and it is such a blessing to know that no matter what I tell Him, He loves to hear from me!
Blessings, Joan
