  1. Karen, your devotion was just what I needed to hear today. I have been going through a similar trial with my health and keep wondering what value there is in suffering. If we let the Lord’s light guide us, we will find hope and meaning. I have been praying The Peace Prayer every morning and did so right before I read your beautiful testimony.

    Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    Where there is injury, pardon;
    Where there is error, truth;
    Where there is doubt, faith;
    Where there is despair, hope;
    Where there is darkness, light;
    And where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master,
    Grant that I may not so much seek
    To be consoled, as to console;
    To be understood, as to understand;
    To be loved as to love.

    For it is in giving that we receive;
    It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

  2. I was copying that verse in my journal just this morning! I was hanging onto the verse because of fear. The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear. I am in the midst of a severe Lupus flare. I had many dates written beside the verse. I have had Fibromyalgia for 26 years, and leaned on that verse often. It truly is such a comfort to know that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. There are times we see that light more clearly than others. I will to keep shining the light for those who do not realize that there is a God who loves them. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  3. Thanks for this precious reminder & verse today Karen! It’s really timely for me 🙂

    I’ve been feeling fearful today about a few difficult situations. Your verse & message helped me to breathe & reminded me to trust IN God again & receive His hope & peace. Thanks a HEAP!

    I pray that the vertigo has calmed and that by now it’s becoming a dim memory.

    Stacey, thanks for the reminder of that great prayer that’s also a lovely song we used to sing at church.
    Sandy, I’m sending you a hug & a prayer. May God calm that flare soon for you & comfort you in the tough times. Lotsoluv Kerryn

    • Unfortunately I’m on day 44 now of dizziness. Going through a rough time with it but still have the same hope and light. I’m hoping in the near future this will be a memory I can look back on and be stronger! 🙂

      I’m glad it was helpful to you today! That’s what it is all about – encouraging one another!

      • Oh I am sorry to hear that you’re still experiencing dizziness Karen! I’m sure that Lynn Severence can relate to you with that & give you understanding from a fellow dizziness sufferer. May God continue to pour out His hope to sustain you in this difficult time. God bless. Lotsoluv Kerryn

  4. Greetings Karen!

    I have been reading and letting the encouragement of each devotion flow deep inside of me since receiving them a week ago! Your devotion is the first one I have commented on…it was truly a right on time word/message of hope for me to keep going no matter the storm but to also pace myself as I am moving forward. I have been having flare ups here and there and it seems that even with my attempts to do what I can that the battle to live with my chronic illnesses is downhill physically. That has sort of started to get me down mentally but spiritually I am still up enough to realize and hold on to words of truth such as yours to just exist with God’s presence in my life as I walk my daily steps (both literally and figuratively). THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND MINISTERING TO OUR HEARTS/SPIRITS/MINDS THROUGH THIS DEVOTION! In peace and love, Sophia:-)!

    • Thank you for your kind words Sophia. We all have been in the boat you are in where we face declining health and discouragement. Keep trusting in the Lord, He is our hope!
