4 Responses to Learning to Find Contentment in Doing Less

  1. Just lost the message I typed – so will try again!
It’s lovely to see you writing here again Linda 🙂
Sometimes it’s hard to see why we feel “resting at Jesus’ feel” is somehow not as important or valuable as “doing” something else we may have once been able to do. It should be a no-brainer really, especially when like you said, you experience “peace and hope in His presence”. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this and how God is changing your priorities as you rest with Him

Praying for you in all the challenges you are facing at present.
    Blessings,
    Fiona

  2. The story of Martha and Mary more often speaks to me. Sometimes even just in my thoughts I can be so busy with worries, concerns, and pleasing others, and I have to remember again that I need to let them go and bring them to the feet of Jesus and just rest quietly and listen to what He has to say to me. I have never heard that song before. I LOVE it! Thank you, Linda, for this encouragement today. I’m sorry you have so many illnesses to deal with, and I pray God will give you strength for each day.

  3. Thank you so much for this devotional! I really needed to read and take the message to heart today. Just last night I was telling some friends about how I feel like this, and then this morning this devotional pops into my inbox! God is great! I was also excited to see you live in Phoenix – I do too! Thank you again and I pray God will bless you and strengthen you through your trials.

  4. Beautiful, encouraging & Godly words! Thanks Linda 🙂

I find huge comfort in this passage of scripture too & found myself nodding agreement all the way through your devotional. It was a hard transition when I first became ill & it remains as an ever present lesson from the Lord for me. Praise God that we have that blessed place of being at Jesus feet… a gift indeed. Praying for you at this difficult time in your life, dear friend. God bless. LOTSoluv Kerryn
