If God has not delivered you from a problem yet, know He is faithful.
Deliverance may look different than you expect, however. Karlton shares.
“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all” (Psalm 34:19).
Has that been been your experience? Have you found that even though you have gone through many troubling things, many difficulties and trials, that the Lord has delivered you from them all?
I can testify that yes, I have been through many terrible afflictions and trials, but the Lord has delivered me from them all.
Sometimes afflictions come fast and hard, taking us by surprise. I like the way the King James Version says it:
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
Even as someone made righteous by the sacrifice of Christ, you are going to have troubles, problems, many afflictions. That is not a popular message, but we all know it is true.
If you live on this earth, you are going to have problems. Even Jesus was not free of troubles while on this planet.
The danger is that we can get so focused on our afflictions that we forget the second part of that verse–that the Lord will deliver us out of our troubles.
Even though we have the pain of affliction, we also have the promise of deliverance. The fact that you are alive on this earth means the Lord has delivered you from something.
No one likes trouble, and as our troubles add up we can become crippled by fear and overwhelmed by adversity.
We need help, comfort, encouragement, and deliverance from our many afflictions. Thankfully we can call upon the Lord to deliver us, and indeed we must call upon Him to survive these many afflictions.
This week you may find your adversities piling up and piling on. While the Lord does not promise problem-free living, He does promise deliverance from and through your many afflictions. Ask Him for help, call upon His Name, and He will help you through your many troubles.
Prayer: Dear Lord, the troubles can pile up and overwhelm us, please deliver us, give us strength, and help us through our many afflictions. Amen.

LOVED this. I’m going through health troubles, work troubles, and family troubles. “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.” 1 Peter 4:12 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” James 1:2-3
Thanks Elisabeth! That’s a great verse.
Blessings.
Interesting timing reading this Karlton, as just today I read an excellent devotional that God DOES answer all our prayers. 🙂
I opened up “My Utmost For His Highest” by Oswald Chambers today & I hadn’t looked at that devotional book for years. The bookmark was in today’s date!!!! It’s a very similar message & one that I need to hear, as I’ve moved back to my friend’s house after a 2 week respite at home for 2 family birthdays. God continues to deliver me from my afflictions & answer my prayers. What a faithful God have I, what a faithful God! Lotsoluv Kerryn
Kerryn, I’m a fan of “Utmost For His Highest”, was thinking recently that I need to re-read it 🙂
Praying for you and your family. I can imagine all the moving around is very stressful for you.

Thank you Karlton for sharing. I love this verse because the Lord truly does deliver us out of all our trials. Even on our death bed, it may not look like deliverance but we will be rescued and carried Home. That is TRUE deliverance!
Held by Him,
Angie
