By Shelby Boughman Some of you may know the codes for using the fire extinguishers in the event of a fire. The acronym PASS means "Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Spray." Doing so will help you use the fire extinguisher properly so that you may fight whatever flames may be around you. Yesterday, the Lord gave me a new idea for this. Have you ever thought about other ways we can use this code? Happy Sunday! His is Risen! Yes, I know that is what people say on Easter, but just because the holiday of Easter has passed does not mean we still can't shout from the mountain tops, "He is Risen Indeed." As the relationships and the world around us spins and tumbles, and as the earth rumbles (lots of earthquakes lately!), I am reminded once again that Jesus' return continues to grow closer every day. I recently have had the honor of joining a group of Christian women who are writing for a blog ThinkingAboutSuidicide.com. Started by Christian author and speaker, Linda Evans Shepherd, this blog features a daily post on topics related to people who may be thinking about suicide. It is for anyone, those who have recently lost a job, a loved one, health, whatever and offers hope through depression. Are your medications and vitamins overwhelming you? I have 4 pillbox holders that I fill up 2 weeks at a time for morning and evening. But all the other bottles have been disorganized. And as much as I try to stay up on getting refills, some are last minute or I even miss a day. None of them seem to run out at the same time. We have a "drug drawer" in the kitchen with a lock. But as the rest of the family has added vitamins and medication over the years, my medications have suddenly become mixed in with everyone elses. I was shocked to hear such a bold statement from Mr. Pat Robertson, 700 club host, who, on Tuesday's broadcast, justified that a person should not be held accountable for leaving his spouse and seeking divorce if his spouse has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. In this scenario Mr. Robertson has shown the world that one's personal comfort, especially in the case of having a spouse with a chronic illness, is more important than the marriage vows of "for better or for worse, until death do us part." The religious broadcaster Pat Robertson and chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) told his "700 Club" viewers that divorcing a spouse with Alzheimer's is justifiable because the disease is "a kind of death." Worship Artist, Matt Krueger, Shares His Story of Heart Condition on CBN

We shared the story of Matt Krueger previously on our web site in April 2011. His story was recently on Christian Broadcasting Network. Matt says, "They did a great job on the piece! We are blessed to share God's story with the World and are interested in sharing the music and message with more. . . I never thought I would be on the same program as John Tesh or Pat Robertson... LOL. God works in wonderful ways." At the age of 22, when Matt had a heart scan, he was told by his doctors he needed immediate surgery or he could have a heart attack. Today we remember our soldiers, those who have served in the past and those who serve today. Those who gave their lives, and those who are still on this earth but whose lives will never be the same. Without their sacrifice, we would not be able to worship our Lord Jesus freely. Today is not about BBQs and parties at the lake. It's not about the sales at your local store. It's about honoring a gift that men and women have given to our country for many decades, and those who are serving today who are not able to sit around and eat the burgers with their families because they are still protecting our religious freedom. So often we thank your soldiers for their service. We should. They give everything, even their lives. But today, let us also remember the families of those who serve our country. To those of us who may not have a loved on serving, the faces just become a quick flash on the evening news when a helicopter goes down or someone is killed even during a training mission. But the loved ones of that individual miss them for the rest of their lives. Today, we thank those of you who gave us the gift of your loved one. . . and who hold no bitterness or grudges, simply honor that he or she lived the life they desired and were proud to do so.
