(1 Peter 5:6-7) Several months ago, I had a usual sensitivity in my abdomen when the area around my appendix was touched. When several days passed and it didn't go away, I decided to make a doctor's appointment. However, the feeling went away and I tried to cancel the appointment. My doctor had the nurse call and tell me he wanted me to keep the appointment even through the concern was gone. I reluctantly went for appointment, and he felt I should have a CAT scan (just to be sure all was well). The result was that a mass was detected. Breakfast on Your Body –Without the Calories

So this woman I know, who shall remain nameless to keep her dignity (hi, mom!) has always sworn on her mother's advice to wrap raw bacon around a toe that is starting to get an ingrown toe nail. Evidently the fat of the bacon will pull out the infection. I have to admit, I've seen it work. . . But for those of us with not-so-hot immune systems, I wouldn't recommend putting a piece of bacon on your toe. (Nor leaving it in your sock, where your dog can pull it out & eat it & have to go to the vet &. . . well, that's a whole other story). But look what we found as a humorous alternative?
