Motherhood and chronic illness. If these two words relate to your life, chances are they are enough to keep you busy indefinitely. They can easily become a large part of your identity, and they both fight for control over your energy, time, and some days, your sanity. I have been working on a book about living with a chronic illness and being a mom for a few years now. It's about 70 percent done, but something keeps getting in the way of finishing it. You know what kinds of things: motherhood and childhood. And the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know. Reflections From RM Founder While Recovering From 4 Joint Replacements

Thank you so much for your prayers & encouraging e-mails that I have received since my h& surgery on November 4, 2009. I had the 4 knuckles that connect my fingers to my h& replaced with silicone joint replacements, due to their disintegration from rheumatoid arthritis which I have lived with for 16 years. This is my first joint replacement, & although I have taken the prescribed pain medication as necessary, & it has not been fun & games, thankfully the pain itself has not been unbearable. In the last two days, the pain has increased, but evidently this is a good thing since it means the tissues are connecting to the new joints & I am in phase 2 of the healing & recovery.
