When we feel too weary to have a needed conversation–even about Jesus–if we ask for His strength He always meets us where we are at. Karlton shares.
“When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak” (Mark 5:27).
I was tired, grouchy, and irritable. I had made it through my sister’s wedding, and through some of the reception, but I was done in and just wanted to go back to my comfortable hotel room. But my mom’s hotel room was closer, so they dropped my grandmother and I off there to rest. I was frustrated because I didn’t get my way, wasn’t taken to my own room.
Funny thing happened, I got over myself, and somehow started talking about Jesus to my grandmother. She had faith as a girl, but felt she had strayed too far to ever go to heaven, yet she loved hearing me talk about Jesus, and told me so.
On her deathbed a family friend prayed with my grandmother and she rededicated her life to Jesus, and now awaits us in heaven.
Sometimes it seems we are too weak, sick, and miserable to do any good for Jesus and the Kingdom of God. Yet we can plant seeds of hope, we can talk about what Jesus has done for us, and we can witness about the most awesome gift in the universe–Salvation through our Lord Jesus.
Wherever you are, despite all your problems and challenges, and maybe because of them, Jesus can use you to tell others about Him. How many times has Jesus forgiven you, turned things around for you, delivered you when no other physician could help? You have a testimony, look to Jesus, remember what He has done for you, and tell others about Him.
Even when you are at your worst, call upon the Lord to speak through you, witness about Him to others. Even on your sick bed you have a powerful testimony that can give hope to others who are not far from the Kingdom.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we feel so weak and helpless, please help us to remember that You can use the weakest person to deliver the most powerful testimony about You. Amen.

This went straight to my heart today. As my Psoriatic Arthritis Mutilans has become very agressive in the past 6 months and a medication stopped working. Ive had to reevaluate my life. Ever since I was a girl , I’ve wanted to be a scientist. But I got married right after highschool and had children. A year after diagnosis I realized If i didn’t move o.k. that dream quickly, I would never get there. So I’ve been a university student half to full time for 4.5 years now. And now Im facing disability. Pain, mobility issues and fatigue have been so bad, I only have time and energy for me and my education. Oops. Scratch that. Now I’m getting incompletes and extensions on assignments. So I have time for this disease and energy for some education nut nothing left to give my family… Or my nieghbors… And certainly I’m not a great advertisement for Jesus. ” With God’s help, you can live like me!” This is tongue in cheek, but its been hitting me lately that if I am declared disabled, I wont have to strive for a career, or to support my family when I am so sick. What an opportunity to ONLY work for the Lord, and what freedom! As I was feeling sorry for myself one day, a new group member was added to a facebook group about bugs. Entomology is a hobby of mine and its wonderful. To be able to talk insects with people all over the world. I don’t think I would have had this interest if not for my education in biology. So anyway… Bad day, new girl introduces herself. She joined because she is afraid of bugs and thought learning more would make her less afraid. I got to tell her how God took away my fear of bees and wasps and because I am a daughter of the King, all I have to do is call on him to tell his creature how to get out if my house or car. She says she isn’t a child of God and asks if I meant slave of God. I told her a slave has no inheritance but a child does and explained the Gospel. She then asks what religion I am and says she is Muslim! She opened up about some painful family struggles and we chatted on facebook for hours. God did all this with BUGS!!!
Chrysalis,
That is awesome that you were able to share Jesus with the Muslim lady. And incredible that you have such motivation to do so much despite your disability. Praying God continues to strengthen you and guide you with the desires of your heart.
Blessings.
Great reminder Karlton 🙂
What a gift of an opportunity you had to share with your grandmother! Special!
Hubby had the car break down last week. He was frustrated & miserable & wondered how to add that to the list of financial needs we currently have. When the tow truck driver came hubby began to grumble about the start of his day. The tow truck driver politely listened, then he began to share of his tough times…. a marriage breakdown, losing his family, house sold & little to live on. He said life isn’t worth living! At that point hubby suddenly was reminded that he had an opportunity to share the hope he has in Jesus, despite our tough circumstances, & that life is ALWAYS worth living! It was quite a long drive home & an opportunity to bring hope to that man. Praying he has other Christians to lead him to the Lord now that the seed is planted. God bless.
